Philmont : A Brief History of the New Mexico Scout Ranch
Published in Paperback by Sunstone Press (April, 2000)
Average review score:

a must have coffetable bookIf you are connected with Philmont, if you love western history, or if you are interested in Northeasten New Mexico, then this is a must-own book. It is in a coffetable type of format, so it makes a great book to set around and peruse whenever you have a few minutes to relax. As the title indicates, it is a brief history, so the text doesn't get nearly as detailed as Larry Murphy's book "Philmont: A History of New Mexico's Cimarron Country." Instead Zimmer and Walker's book is loaded with great photographs. If you are looking for a good historical review of Northeastern New Mexico, but don't want to get bored with details, I highly recommend this book.

Picnic Farm
Published in School & Library Binding by Holiday House (March, 1998)
Average review score:

Picnic FarmThis book is simple yet entertaining. I read it to my son
(3 1/2yrs) almost nightly, by his request. In addition to the writing in the book we use the colors and animals to count and work on matching skills. It is a very good book.

The Ponderosa Empire (Bonanza, 2)
Published in Hardcover by G K Hall & Co (May, 1995)
Average review score:

Interesting and engaging story. As with the first book by Stephen Calder, this book doesn't follow the TV series canon precisely, but it's still an engaging story that's hard to put down. I highly recommend it to Bonanza fans.

Ranch Woman's Manual
Published in Paperback by Gwen Peterson (June, 1991)
Average review score:

Ranch Womens ManuelThis is an excellent "tongue-in-cheek" factual account of ranch life, told in the style of Erma Bombeck. Ms. Petersens versions of events and the trials and tribulations of the American Ranch Wife are hysterically funny and guarenteed to cast a new light on the Farmers of America! Great gift or just a light, enjoyable read!

Santa Comes to Little House
Published in Hardcover by HarperCollins (02 October, 2001)
Average review score:

Santa comes to little houseI like this book because it talks about how there are three girls that are waiting for Santa. I would buy this book because it's a nice and gentle book and how this man was friendly to these people I would say this book is for 4 year olds to 11 year olds.

Saving the Marin-Sonoma Coast: The Battles for Audubon Canyon Ranch, Point Reyes, & California's Russian River
Published in Paperback by Sweetwater Springs Press (01 March, 1998)
Average review score:

Beauty can be savedYou may not think you'll be interested in this rather formidable looking book with its straightforward title, but it is an inspiring story. What one impassioned but modest man (he gives others most of the credit) did to save from Californication one piece after another of one of the lovliest coastlines in the U.S.is a story to savor. Read it and cheer.
